Amman – The Microfund for Women carried out 181 initiatives in 2024, including community activities, training courses, health programs, and participation in bazaars and festivals, benefiting approximately 20,000 people across Jordan, CEO Maha Saeed said on Tuesday.
Saeed detailed that the organization hosted 60 training courses during the year, covering financial literacy, small business simulation, digital marketing, and hands-on craft skills such as soap making, crochet, and plumbing. These initiatives benefited over 5,500 individuals.
In its education support efforts, the fund awarded 12 full university scholarships to children of beneficiaries, covering tuition fees, registration, transportation, and book expenses.
The Microfund for Women also organized 20 free medical days, offering medicines and consultations to more than 800 beneficiaries and their families. Additionally, about 160 beneficiaries participated in 21 bazaars and festivals free of charge to showcase and market their products, creating vital networking opportunities.
Children were also included in the organization’s outreach, with 24 activities arranged across branches that benefitted over 1,000 children. Celebrating national, religious, and women-focused events such as the Prophet’s Birthday, Independence Day, Women’s Day, and Mother’s Day, the fund distributed thousands of gifts and approximately 1,400 charity coupons to limited-income beneficiaries.
Since its establishment in 1996, the Microfund for Women, a private non-profit operating under the supervision of the Central Bank of Jordan, has remained committed to empowering individuals through comprehensive non-financial services aimed at supporting their entrepreneurial and social projects.
