I make a living off of my family coffee kiosk. However, with all the electric appliances used in the business, most of the profit went to the energy expenditure. With Taqati loan, I installed a solar energy system which helped decrease my energy bills while my household income increased!

Ranya Abu Shhab: Mamoul

Ranya began working with MFW many years ago, and she has been making mamoul for 10 years. She began her mamoul journey from home, making small amounts for her family and friends. She uses family recipes that come from her grandparents and parents, while adding her own special twist over the years. Her first loan from MFW, a quantity of 500 JD, allowed her to purchase ingredients for a variety of mamoul flavors, such as walnut, date, and pistachio. Since then, she has renewed her loan to continue to support and grow her business. Over the years, her friends encouraged her to begin selling her delicious mamouls in larger quantities. With the help of MFW, she opened a production house 4 months ago.

Typically, mamoul is popular for purchase during the holidays. However, Ranya’s irresistible mamoul became a daily delicacy for her local clients. During the holidays, she employs 7 women and on an everyday basis she employs 2-3 women. With their help, she sells fresh mamoul daily to local grocery stores and bakeries. Her success has spread internationally, as she ships to countries such as Sweden and Saudi Arabia. Her business’s rapid growth, along with MFW’s help, has substantially increased her family’s financial stability. Her husband has even retired from his work to help support her business. Ranya is now able to provide her four kids and grandchildren with a comfortable life.
