The lack of job opportunities motivated Areej to start her own business. She sought the help of Microfund for Women to get the loan she needed to buy makeup and accessories that she is now selling from her home.

Despite the challenges she faced, starting with her father’s refusal of the whole idea of her business, her fear of failing, and the lack of capital to kickstart this project. However, once she conquered all this, her business flourished and started to pay off the family’s financial commitment from what she earns.

When asked about her experience with Microfund for Women, she praised it, saying that if it weren’t for their help, her project wouldn’t have succeeded and grown over the years
